Winter tissue box by Lynne and Winter Layout by Donna

Good Morning Crafters! Today we have two fun projects up by our Design Team members Lynne and Donna.   First up is Lynne, with a fun take on a home decor item!

Hi there and happy December! Lynne here, with a home decor piece.  I used a plain wooden tissue box cover to create this project and lots of wintery chipboard pieces from Gina's, as well as papers from the Authentique "Cozy" collection. I decided to use a winter theme rather than a Christmas one so I can leave it out for a few months rather than just for the Christmas season!

I painted the mug, then heat embossed a swirly pattern onto it for texture and a bit of shimmer...I can just smell that hot cocoa....mmmm!

The snowflakes were heat embossed with Aged Ivory, then rubbed with a bit of gold gelato to warm the tone a bit.

I covered the beautiful bird piece with texture paste, then painted it before spraying with opaque white mist.

I love these mittens!! I want more of them to use on Christmas cards now after seeing how cute they look! I painted them with acrylic paint, then dabbed on a little taupe ink to give them a vintage look, added a strip from the patterned paper and popped them up a bit for dimension.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and hope you're having a great time creating seasonal projects too!

Now over to Donna, with her gorgeous layout!

It's here...the holiday season, and for some of us, winter! There are so many things to love about winter, especially in December! Gina's Designs has beautiful, cute, chipboard embellishments for your winter and/or Christmas projects!

I love to start a layout with a page frame. This circle page frame reminds me of swirling, blowing wind and snow in the winter. I primed the frame with white gesso, and randomly sprinkled green and gold glitter embossing powder, and heat embossed those areas.

I used Inka Gold on two of Gina's chipboard snowflakes. I added it directly to the chipboard, without priming with gesso, and love the vintage looking color.

I used the word "winter"  from the title piece Winter Wonderland. I think it's so clever that there is a snowflake on top of the letter "i". I primed the word with white gesso, then used white distress paint, and again used the Inka Gold directly on the chipboard snowflakes.
